Dr Gayana S is a Nuclear medicine physician with over 9 years of experience. She is an expert in her speciality and has worked and trained at some of the prestigious institutes in India. She has a vast experience in both diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine, having worked extensively with a variety of radionuclides and tracers. She has reported over 25,000 gamma camera-based scintigraphy studies and over 15,000 PET CT studies.

Dr. Gayana S has completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Mysore and did her MD in Nuclear medicine from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. She has worked previously as a senior resident at PGIMER, Chandigarh, as Consultant at Sri Shankar Cancer hospital, Bangalore and NewMedd diagnostics, Bangalore.
She is a Fellow European board of Nuclear Medicine ( FEBNM) and Member Indian College of Nuclear Medicine ( MICNM)
Dr. Gayana S has won Academic excellence award twice for securing highest marks in the Subject of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics from Government Medical College, Mysore, Karnataka. She has won a silver medal for being academic topper in MD, Nuclear Medicine.
She has been ranked for the best paper presentation in “Role of18F-Fluoride PET/CT in the diagnosis of Avascular necrosis of femoral head” at SNM annual meeting 2012, held at Miami, Florida, USA and also in “18F-Fluoride PET-CT in the prognostication of avascular necrosis of the femoral head following core decompression – a prospective pilot study” at EANM congress 2012, held at Milan, Italy. She is also one of the few to be accorded travel grant by Nuclear Medicine society and ICMR, India. Being bright in academics throughout, she has many national and international presentations, research publications in national and internal peer-reviewed journals, medals and awards to her credit. She is also a reviewer for Indian Journal of Nuclear Medicine (IJNM).
Her special areas of expertise are PET/CT (both oncology and non-oncology), Nuclear Cardiology and Theranostics.
