Work Experience

Dr. Nayak has with him an experience of over 24 years with 15 years in Minimal Access Surgical Oncology

Special Surgical Interests:

Rectal Cancer: ISR (Inter-sphicteric resection), the technique to avoid permanent stoma (waste bag)  

Breast Cancer: TARGET IORT- complete 30 days of radiation in 30 mins (selected patients). All specialized surgeries for breast cancer like oncoplastic breast conservation surgery. 

Colon cancer: D3 resection for colon cancer has shown better cure rates in many Japanese studies.  

Esophageal cancer surgery with 3 field lymphadenectomy for all these cancers has a better cure rate.  

Lung Cancer: VATS & robotic surgery  

HIPEC & PIPAC: for stage 4 cancers of colon, ovarian cancers and peritoneal cancers.

Education

Dr. Nayak’s medical career as an Oncologist started from the year 1999 – During his career he has traveled & worked with many reputed Cancer centers Internationally & in the country. With many scientific publications to his credit & a Member of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK including other associations, Dr. Nayak is an awardee of many accolades during the 18 years of his career as a Medical Oncologist. Prior to joining Fortis, he was a clinical teaching faculty at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology.
