He is an acknowledged expert in Urological Laparoscopic (including 3D laparoscopy) and Robotic Surgery. He has immense experience in the field of Reconstructive and Paediatric urology and has also been a part of leading kidney transplant programs in India and overseas.
He is adept in various minimally invasive and laser-enabled surgical procedures for kidney stones and prostate including RIRS and Supine PCNL for kidney stones and vaporisation / enucleation of the prostate. He is also part of a large-volume Andrology program performing both malleable and inflatable Penile prosthesis.
Dr. Shakir Tabrez has with him an expereince of 17 years.
Dr. Shakir completed his MS in General Surgery with a gold medal from the distinguished Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai he also pursued his MCh (Urology) from the same university.
He has trained and received a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery (Urology) from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France. He has also been awarded a Diploma in Robotic surgery from the University of Lorraine, France, and has performed a wide range of robotic urological surgeries on the Da Vinci robotic platform with excellent outcomes.
He has to his credit many prize-winning presentations at prestigious conferences both in India and abroad. He is also a professor and mentor for DNB (Diplomate of National Board) students in Urology and has trained many surgeons and urologists in laparoscopy and endo-urology.
